Sustainability Educator at Reverse Garbage

  • In my current role as a Sustainability Educator, my responsibilities include;

    • Facilitating workshops for preschool, primary and high school students designed to promote pro-environmental behaviours through Creative Arts and Science activities. 

    • Delivering professional development sessions for businesses and schools to guide the implementation of sustainable practice at an organisational level.

2021-2024

Primary School Teacher at NSW Department of Education, MLC School and Trinity Grammar School

  • Fast-tracked to a permanent position at Guildford Public School as part of the NSW Department of Education's Targeted Graduate Program.​

  • ​Planned, delivered and evaluated high quality learning programs across all Key Learning Areas of the NSW Syllabi and Australian Curriculum.

  • Developed and implemented detailed, individualised strategies to nurture and support students working both above and below grade level expectations.

  • Worked with children from culturally and linguistically diverse backgrounds, including;

    • First Nations students,

    • Students from refugee backgrounds,

    • Students from trauma backgrounds, including children living in out-of-home care,

    • Students from EAL/D backgrounds,

    • Students with intellectual and/or physical disabilities.

2023-2024

Children's Manager and Book Buyer at Better Read Than Dead

  • Re-imagined the store's suite of educational programs by creating, advertising and operating the first Beginner, Middle Grade and Teen Book Clubs.

  • Innovated the Better Read Kids communication strategies and social media channels by introducing video content and a fortnightly EDM to subscribed customers.

  • Selected, ordered and merchandised books for the Children’s Section of the store, including new releases, back list titles and special orders. 

  • Supported the distribution of books to schools and libraries across Greater Sydney, including the operation of Book Fairs during Book Week and other special occasions.

Volunteer Co-Editor at Australian Earth Laws Alliance (AELA)

  • Designed, co-edited and launched the first AELA Earth Arts anthology, with the aim of providing creatives a platform to ‘reflect, lament, provoke, celebrate and challenge our ideas about ourselves and our relationships with other life and life-supporting systems on our planet’.

Intern at FEAT. Artists​

  • Run by Australian musician Heidi Lenffer, FEAT. is 'an artist-led climate innovations agency that mobilises the cultural and financial power of the entertainment industry to better our world'.

  • Innovated FEAT.'s social media strategy by introducing video content, including a series during the Covid-19 lockdown during which Australian musicians responded to voice notes from fans.

  • Wrote and published a collection of blog posts during the Covid-19 lockdown, including; 

    • No News Is Good News, Right? An Ode to Climate Change Coverage​​

    • Nature in the New Normal 

    • In Conversation with Room 2 Radio
